STORYTIME: It Must Have Been a Guardian Angel

Thank you so much for being ready to see me in my element once again. Welcome to my little space on the internet where I share with you another bit of love, laughter and maybe a treat or two.

It’s time for one of those story times that, I must say, forgive me if I cry. It’s so dear to my heart and I had to place a 2-in-1 special for you guys because this one really is a beautiful memory, and life-changing moment for me.

This is PART 1. I’ll post part 2 in another blog so you guys don’t get too much in one read.

NB// A Sneak Peak for part 2 will be at the end.

Part 1 of 2

I saw a post on Twitter that caught my attention yesterday and it brought me back to this very moment. Let’s read…

Angel’s can take human form in moments of divine intervention and to act as messengers. I try to keep this in mind when I encounter “strangers” in interesting situations.

– Maryam Hasna

As I saw this, what also came to mind were the many times that I had watched videos of persons who got pulled out of an accident, or saw a man with no face save them from fires and they knew it was Jesus, or an angel. The one that stood out to me the most was when a church caught fire and not one bible showed signs of being in that horrible site. Isn’t that really one of the wonders of life?

Many of us really only need ONE reason to believe or that ONE life changing moment that leaves you no longer questioning your purpose, who you are or who this God is that gets the credit for all the ‘good stuff‘. Well, I had my shares of those moments. Those where it can only be GOD! It wasn’t on accident, or coincidence !! It happened, for a reason.

The Car Situation

I was in the 7th grade and my parents, along with my two sisters and a family friend, Aunty Jackie (don’t forget her. I’ll mention her more times than you think) were on our way to work and school. It’s really routine for us to head early into Kingston because we wanted to beat the traffic and yes, a lot of us were in the vehicle, so it only made sense.

My dad, (I’m not sure what the mechanical terms are) had seen issues with the car, and it had shut down in the middle of a freeway. Now, this is very early in the morning, I am never late in my entire life, I just started high school which, of course came with rules that I wasn’t exaclty used to and I FEARED having any blemishes to my record.

We stayed out there a minute, and I recall getting a bit cold becuase the time was chilly and that’s not exactly the best scenario to ‘not worry’. I was nervous. I didn’t want to panic and I didn’t want to seem too affected by the situation. I mean, I’m just a kid, what can I do?

Now, no one may believe this but, have you ever mentally prayed?? Like those words that you think and don’t say, and the ones that you think about and not exactly expect to count on your list of prayers?? I did that. In my mind of course, I thought, “God, please send someone”.

Now, I just need one of y’all to tell me you have done this before… I can’t be the only one tripping on God’s abilities sometimes.

And then, they came. After a few minutes or so, a van pulled up behind us and asked if we were okay. They checked on us, and they asked where we were heading. They had no issue taking us with them and they could take all of us that were running late. Isn’t that amazing?? (Still trying to remember if my mom came with us or stayed with my dad. I only remember my sisters and Aunty Jackie coming in the vehicle).

Now, I know.. you guys are like.. “Where is the angel Ruth??”

I believe, at least the driver was my guardian angel. I saw him before. I knew this man. *Inserts Keke Palmer voice as I heard it while typing and waits on a laugh* And no, It wasn’t from a bank line, or a schoolmate’s uncle, he was… familiar to me. I was comfortable. My spirit was at peace. Like… peace. I am telling you today, that, if God was to tell me that that man was His son or an angel, I would not be surprised. I wouldn’t.

Maybe they all were. They were people that are so rare that you think so long and hard on, was this orchestrated by God or am I just not surrounded by the right people to know that in the 21st century? Strangers still help each other on the roads without fear. Their personalities were so Christ-like, I promise you Jesus was in the car with us, times eight.

In the vehicle, they told us that they all usually have their devotions in the car, and they were wondering if we wanted to join. I was excited!! It was my first time, experiencing a ‘miracle.’ I never felt like I was just at church or, just a Pastor’s kid but, I was, meeting with the Father. In the eyes of others, he was just a nice man with about eight people in the car… but to me… it was more. It was God showing me, ‘There is more“.

I distinctly also remember them telling us a little about the ‘family’. I recall a guy at the back who was blind. I think God was showing me something there. My heart connected. I always have a special love for individuals that have, based on physical representation, a reason to ‘hate God’ call Him their God. It pushes me. It makes me realise that I really have no excuses when it comes to Him. He gave me everything. He gave me what others lack, or need, or just want one day to experience.

We sang songs in traffic, read the devotional, and we just spent time in God’s presence until I had to come out of the car. (This is a dream date of mine, future husband… take notes). And, to tell you the truth, I couldn’t tell you what happened on that day, but I know, it was one of the best days of my entire life.

I left the vehicle really wanting to stay a bit longer. I saw a friend of mine walking in to school and I told her, “I think I met an angel”. Now, I am not a bragging child, but it all dawned on me when I left that vehicle, how, maybe the Messiah was in that car with me, on my way to school!!!

I told her the story and she was like, “Wow, that’s cool”. (So much for thinking others will be as pumped as you are). She liked the story but, it never shifted her perspective as much as it did mine. I mean, I would sound stupid to so many people. I was only about 11 years old, a baby in most eyes.

*No tears but thinking about it check.*

It was the best feeling, best experience and I TOTALLY RECOMMEND meeting an angel. It’s one of those things you don’t put on a bucket list, but when it happens, you totally hope it happens again.

//DISCLAIMER//

You don’t have to believe that this is true, an angel or that it even happened. It’s my story, and I believe it will encourage someone.

Mini Sneak Peak: PART 2

Pull Over

This story isn’t as long as the one before, but its quite short and memorable. It was also with Aunty Jackie in the vehicle, this time, my mom was driving us home from school and work.

Some time last year we were in a line of traffic awaiting being checked by the Officers, and I think my mother was too caught up in the conversation that we were having that she didn’t realise an officer was making an order, she was to STOP…!!!!!

To be continued…

Thank You

Thank you so much for reading until the end. I hope you enjoyed every bit of it and maybe binge watched a few videos on YouTube about people’s experiences with an angel. Tell me, have you ever had an experience? I so wanna hear it. I really appreciate all the support that you guys send me, and all the love you guys show on social media. Until Part 2, live full, die empty!!

  2. Ok this is all great and all. I believe in God and I’m thankful for his blessings. But what about all those people who are losing there lives senselessly what about their guardian angel? Does God favour some people over some. You can try to answer but I’m pretty sure u won’t be able to answer this accurately but never mind

    1. Hey lovely. That’s a beautiful question. I think about this every day. What about those that are murdered by senseless people and die from inhumane situations. Something though, that I know for sure, is that we all have a choice. You do and I do as well. Christian or not. Believer or not. That’s what God wants for us. So some persons decisions may lead them to taking the lives of others. It’s unfair and it’s not right. But it is how we as humans are. So even though God loves us, with that love He gave us all “free will”. He doesn’t want to control us, that wouldn’t make sense right? 😂😂. It’s like a friends’ love. They want what is best for us and they make us make the decision that we want for ourselves. As much as God hates wicked acts, we may not always understand why people do what they do. That’s why I always say, what you do affects everyone. So you choose to be good.

I really hope this answer isn’t too long. Feel free to message me if you have any more questions.

  4. Yes, I have totally done the whole mental prayer thing. It even gets to the point where I’m speaking tongues and healing people that I’m praying for (in my head), so you’re okay, princess.
Loved this❗❗ and I pray I meet my Guardian Angel, My Cupbearer and everything, and if I have done so already, I just want to thank you for opening my eyes, to really appreciate the people we’ve met in this lifetime. LOVELY RUTH.😊
