TEA TIME WITH RUTHIE: Verses About Forgiving Others

It’s a great day, by now you must have had your cup of tea and ready to start your productive day.

This week we are going to focus on forgiving others, yeah I know. I know some people have no issue brushing off the things that other people have done to them, and I applaud you, I’m sure God is proud too. But, there are some who really have a hard time forgiving much less forgetting.

I know that for me it has always been a weird relationship, me and forgiveness I mean. I went into an old journal the other day and I saw that one of the things I was praying over myself for was to forgive others more easily. Looking back, that was a very rough year and I had definitely forgiven a lot. But Jesus doesn’t want us just to forgive those that are easy to forgive, but those that kinda left a scar in our souls.

So I’m going to share with you a few verses that I found and I hope that you really take them into account. Be blessed.

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

Matthew 18:21-22

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Ephesians 4:31-32

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Matthew 6:14

“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Luke 6:37

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

James 5:16

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
