We are back with some more notes and some more notes to read. As I was editing this I realised how much sometimes less really is more.
We (and I mean me here) sometimes get caught up in getting every ounce of information or drops of juice because we think that having more means we are better off. And sometimes what we really need requires us to have some kind of space in our hands.
They tend to use this analogy a lot… You can’t ask God to take your sins or give you something if your hands are full of things that prevent you from holding firmly to what God has for your life.

Main Text: 1 John 2:12-14
References: 1 John 2:8-10, John 1:1 Hebrews 13:8, Rev 1:8, John 15:7
“I am writing to you…”, It was talking to the young and young in spirit. It was also talking to the elders. Not one specific gender.
It was a term of endearment.
“Because your sins are forgiven…” He wasn’t to encourage you that you are forgiven. Have the mind of Christ. Don’t let what the devil comes to you about your past slow you down.
1 John 5:13, 1:9
St. John 1:12
God gives everyone who is saved the power over sin.
God solves your win problem. He gave you power over sin. He doesn’t want you to be sin focused.
Don’t look down on somebody that bucks their toe.
You grow from having faith in God.
You have known the Father from faith and relationship.
He calls upon the youths because they are strong.
Don’t look down on the youths.
The Word is in You.
You are clean because of the Word He has put on you.
You have overcome.
Value your young people.
Fathers:
- When God calls out a nation, he calls the leaders.
- Speaking to him and his family
- Translated to parents
- Called them because they have known him.
- Because of their faith in God their families are saved.
- He taught them to train them God’s way and is bearing fruit.
- You have known him from the beginning (trust).
- Rev. 1:8
Our responsibility to spread his word to others.
Well I do hope that you learnt something from this sermon. It is important for all of us to remember the covenant that we have with Christ and who we are in Him.
How confident are you in the Word form God that was referenced today?
Something that I learnt t hi is week six that Jesus puts His very word above His own name. Think about that.
This must mean that His word is of high value right? AMAZING.
