TEA TIME WITH RUTHIE: Verses for Spouses

Yes, I know. This week let us focus on a few verses on our spouses. This of course is not limited to those married but also people preparing for marriage. I do want us to read these each day and think about a few things. If a husband should not be harsh to his wife, as a woman, what does that mean for her? That is what I want you to think about. Not only what treatment others should give to you, but what that means when you are in contact with that person. Am I at the place that I know that I should be a certain individual to get a husband or a wife?

Should the woman also think about how she treats her husband? Why is it important to not be harsh?

Let’s think about it.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

1 Corinthians 10:13

Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.

Mark 10:9

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 6:33

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11

Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly.

Colossians 3:19

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.

Proverbs 31:10
