Competition Reminder
This was actually a women’s bible study that I watched with a few friends. I so related to some of the things that Dr Jackie Greene spoke about. When I first watched it, I thought about how easy it is for us to submit to or allow our emotions to control how we act, when we act and how we do things. Even if our emotions chnage three times in an hour, we allow that to steer us in whichever direction it pleases.
Speaker: Dr Jackie Greene
- There is a difference when we apply God to every situation we have with people.
- God vs self.
- With every decision you make you are representing God.
- All of our decisions matter. Do we decide to live for others or Christ?
- Gain from this season and not jut go through it. (Time of singleness) you’ll learn it in singleness and not in marriage.
- Believe that God knows best.
- Our actions have real weight. We have no understanding of what the reason is behind someone’s actions.
- We cannot take off our badge of Christianity. It is important to overcome emotions and how to control it.
- Do you want to live like Christ or live like Self? You have to want to do what he would do in that Moment – the true call.
- Live in the spirit, not in your feelings. My flesh has to submit.
- Do you extend yourself for the feelings of others? Do you still leave the door open for others even when they offend us?
- We are not our own (1 Cor 6:19-20)
- God lives in us so that means everything we do and where we go, he is with us. So we get no days off. He always sees us and willing to help.
- Sometimes you never know what internal battle people are experiencing.
- Is it worth it to use your will over His will?
- He will help you if you let him.
- We don’t have the right to be on our feelings, we are not our own.
- What would a day with Jesus in his feelings be like? No breath because you dint talk to him today.
- We have to surrender to His will; all for his glory.
- He placed us in this world but he doesn’t want us to be of it. We always try to copy it. (They treated us a way and we want to reciprocate it. We want to respond how the world responds). God wants us to be patience and hold no record of wrongs.
- God looks for our obedience in the small things.
- Romans 12:2
- Good, pleasing and perfect.
- We don’t get the option to look on things how The world does.
- We should allow God to elevate us so that we don’t see no the world does, but as he does.
- It is our perspective that dictates our response. Let God change your perspective.
- If you have gratitude, everything you do is with grace.
- If you have offense, it will be with you everywhere you go.
- Focus in on doing God’s will in every situation. That choice will change the world.
- We always have a choice. Fruit of the spirit is a choice. We don’t have to submit to the flesh.
- We are children of the most ugh God and he has given us strength to overcome whatever comes at us.
- James 4:7-10
- The Holy Spirit has empowered us to overcome our flesh and allow him to be that in those moments.
- You can choose to say a loud no to the enemy.
- Say no to self and yes to Gods choice, not just one Moment but very moment. You will never regret it.
- God most often requires us to do the undeserved thing. That is what makes us more like him, he freely give his love, salvation and all the undeserved things. Would you choose him over self? This means everything to him. It is not only right, it is better for you.
- His desires surrenders obedience.
- He desires you to yield and surrender your will and life for him not give it.
- We want to do his desires more than to be right. Bring fear an displayed down.
- Be able to give it to God even when we wouldn’t pick it.
- We should choose to surrender to him anyway.
- It might hurt in the moment, but help in the long run. If this will be for Bods glory and allows someone to know the father, it is worth it. It might be your child or spouse. That is testifying to the strength of God.
- God wants us to understand this.
- God wants you to show him in real life and real moments.
- Someone stands in the balance if you choose God or yourself.
- It’s calling for courage, strength, obedience.
- Every choice you make affects someone whether we know it or not.
