TEA TIME WITH RUTHIE: Be Humble

As we enter into this week, we want to ask God to help us to be humble. Many of us don’t realise how humble we are not. I know.

Think about moments where you knew that you neeeded to be humble but because you weren’t, it really negatively impacted a situation.

Now, we aren’t talking about false humility, or what my mentor calls false humiliation, that is a completely different ballgame.

Let’s Get Thinking…

  1. What is humility?
  2. What is false humility?
  3. How are you going to work on being humble this week?
  4. What are some other characteristics that are linked to humility?
  5. If I am humble, this also means that I am ______________. (Add a fruit of the spirit).
  6. The verse that I’ll use to remember to be humble is _______________.

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. – Ephesians 4:2

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. – James 4:10

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. – 2 Chronicles 7:14

For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. – Luke 14:11

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. – Proverbs 11:2

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. – Romans 12:3
