TEA TIME WITH RUTHIE: What The Bible Says About HOPE

A word that I received from the Lord for this year is HOPE. I don’t know about you but sometimes we can “hope for the best” and really all hope was lost the second things were not going according to plan.

I personally needed a reminder, especially in this time that hope is one of the most valuable things anyone can have. We may give up too quickly on a situation and hope alone could have been the very thing that changes things. So let’s see what we can learn a bit more on hope.


My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” – Exodus 33:14

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” – Romans 8:15

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” … Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13

Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. – Lamentations 3:21-23

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God! – Psalm 42:11

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life. – Proverbs 13:12

Having hope will give you courage. You will be protected and will rest in safety. You will lie down unafraid, and many will look to you for help. – Job 11:18-19
