Prior to even being exposed to this quote, this was something I thought about deeply. It was something that was my lifestyle and it should be yours too. We all affect each other and we all have influence. Some may influence more than others, but it is your responsibility to ensure that those you influence are doing their best and are positively influenced.

When I first saw this quote, I thought about how easy it is for us to not even realise that God is showing us this very thing. Everything leads back to us loving our neighbors as we love ourselves.
I remember when I was younger there was this song that was playing and I never quite understood what older adults that I look up to meant when they said, “you cannot love others if you don’t love yourself”. Right? So the song was saying something along the lines of, “you taught me how to love myself” or something of the sort. And as I said, it took me a few years before I realised that those words really shouldn’t be. Or “I loved you before I loved me”. We cannot love others until we truly love ourselves.
And of course a lot of us think so much about wanting to be remembered but we don’t think much about, “what comes to their mind when they think of me?”
Most times it isn’t even an event but an emotion we remember or feel when we think of someone. Most of us can relate to the excitement we feel when we hear the right persons voice on the other end of the line or those moments we see their name being called and we anticipate their presence.
How are you influencing others in the right way?
Some will forget the words you said, but they’ll never forget the feeling of knowing that someone was there with them in that difficult time.

We have to be there for one another and also be conscious that we influence the thoughts, passions and abilities of those around us.
