STORYTIME: It Must Have Been A Guardian Angel Part 4

For those who have been reading from the beginning, you know that this is something that I hold dear to my heart.

If you want to catch up real quick to present day, here is Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.

It’s so interesting that the first stories that I told happened way before I started this blog, and this time around it’s present day.

Over the weekend, my sisters, my mom and a friend had places to go and people to see, so we were on the road from about 11.

There is a hill that we had to drive on to get to where we were going and because it was my first time with my mom, we had to use Google Maps to get there.

We eventually had a little issue going up because mom saw smoke coming from the vehicle and we had to stop.

By the way, at that time we also realised that Google Maps was lagging behind a bit and so we missed a turn.

Eventually we had to contact those who we planned on visiting and we updated them of course on where we are.

As we came out of the car, a lady from across the street asked us if we needed any help and when I called dad, he said that we need to put water into some thing *this is where I ask those with a license to tell me what he was talking about* and we told her we needed water. We got the water and that first of all is a blessing. Considering this pandemic, most people would keep socially distant from acts of kindness if not anything else.

My mom decided that we needed to pray and of course, I was the one nominated to do so. I prayed and that’s when…

A little after, a line of traffic was passing and a guy asked, “you guys alright??”

My mom shouted back, “no” and I thought that was the end of the conversation… I just thought that was it… guys. The man went down and turned around to come and help us. I wish I could see him again and ask him why he even asked but God only knows right, lol.

So he got out his car and helped us with everything. All I can remember is, “good oil, good oil” and the reaction i had when he wanted to test the car before we got back in.

I don’t know if this is like an unwritten rule, but he gave my mom his car key. Mommy was saying that’s if he doesn’t come back or whatever. Or just to prove that he isn’t going away with the car.

He went for a while and Worrying Ruth appeared. Don’t ask me why, how or what the reason was but I started thinking the worst instead of the best. This was a teaching moment for me because I try to tell people all the time that there is good in the world and sometimes I forget to believe it.

I remember even asking mommy, “do you even know his name?” And as much as I was teasing her, in that moment I wasn’t thinking the best of things.

Now even though I never acted on those thoughts, I still should apologize right?? Mom eventually got his name but I forgot… but I’m very sorry.

He even wanted to direct us back to where we should have been going but I couldn’t remember… I know. Some panic under pressure, but for me, I cannot multitask, which can be a good thing sometimes.

Literally as he left, the people that I called at the beginning of this situation pulled up and found us.

Thank you Lord for this moment, I cannot wait to see what other lesson you have for me and what other Good Samaritan you’ll send my way.

Also, try to be the Good Samaritan or the Guardian Angel for someone else.
