Now chile, I know you know what I am about to say in this whole blog, but in the meantime, you can subscribe to a new podcast and finally eat that cassava chips that your mom bought you last week.
Let’s get right into business…
There has been this wave for a long time, especially in the christian culture of people feeling “draped”. Now I’ve said this countless times but I think I have had the last straw just about.
A lot of us, when we get a word or confirmation from our church leaders or an online sermon, we are quick to get up and enjoy the excitement and “victimization” that comes with being “draped”. We do not go through the process of not having to struggle or deal with that anymore. Aren’t you tired of saying you have trust issues? At least change your position a working progress. You have been associating that to yourself for almost a decade now, if not longer.
Now I’m obviously not saying that this is the case for every one, or that those that this applies to only do it for these reasons, but it is important for us as believers, non-believers and just people to not feel “called out” or “condemned” about a thing and go back to the same place we were prior to.
How ridiculous does that sound?? We are handed a mirror to highlight what needs to be adjusted in this season, we feel a pull on our shirt and instead of changing our old ways and habits, we end up doing the same thing over and over again.
I tell my friends all the time that it is important to feel draped by a word from God, but not to put on the same torn up shirt.

It’s like being told that those outpouring moments you had with your friends was really gossiping, you are shouting “draped” in the middle of the service and before you are even home, the group of you start gossiping all over again.
I say all of this to say, do not say that you have been draped and you have not changed a thing about your demeanor. You just got airbrushed, and I say that respectfully of course.
You cannot feel draped for not waking up early in the mornings and still go to bed late or not set any alarms. You are setting yourself up to fail the same course you were called out for continuously.
I say all of this with love. Stay tuned for part 2.

This is so true. I am guilty sometimes its after I’ve said or done what I said I would not. Sometimes I hear my inner self remind me didn’t you say you would not say a word.. Lord help me.
