This is just a message that the blogs that are linked to this series are going to also be for my children (if they even care lol). I wanted to really think about how these series impacted my life in their own ways and different things that I carry out in my own life, where they came from or who taught them to me. This was an emotional write I must say. Sometimes I think about how unreal it is that I’m not 7 anymore or I’m not a pre-teen trying to wear highlights in my hair because Jamie Grace did in her interviews.
Many can say that they had a great childhood or can quickly list a “few” shows that woke them up each morning or played while they got ready for school. For me, my household obviously was a bit different but I’m okay with that. I was raised by the things I watched too, outside of my parents of course, so who I am today is because of these Creators and their dreams being a reality. (I just want to say, this obviously is a Part 1 because today’s Sunday).
1. 7th Heaven

As a Pastor’s Kid, there were so many family related things that I could relate to growing up. There were also many DREAMS I had because of this series. I knew how my parents would react with certain problems and it was also a good way for me to see how family dynamics work in other Christian households. There also is a high possibility that I loved the series because one of the Camden kids name is Ruthie.
2. Touched By An Angel

This… I don’t think it there are enough words for me to describe how much I love this series. To this day I still watch it in my spare time and think of how much this has given me so much hope, passion and excitement when it comes to ministry, heaven, people and just angels. I did mention in another blog that this is something really valuable to my heart and that is how we should treat each other as if we are angels, or even look out for instances that there possibly was an angel that really came on appointment to help you. Something that I was taught at a younger age is that you don’t see something unless that is exactly what you are looking for. Personally, this is something that I look for. Some of the most valuable life lessons engraved in my heart came from these “angels” and I just learnt a lot about how to treat people with just tenderness, and try my best to give grace to everyone. This also is the foundation of me strongly believing that I should be able to leave everyone’s life and impact them – their life should be better even after I’m gone because of my impact.
3. God Rocks!

I know those that grew up on this are like, why this picture, buttt I did this for me. I actually had a very emotional experience finding the creators of the ministry on Instagram (the lady in pink and her husband in blue). I was in tears because they were still Christian’s and married and with a family. I know to many that may not seem like a big deal but for me, these people taught me bible verses through songs that I can spit to this day. They made songs that believe it or not make me feel confident about being myself. I think it is so beautiful to know that they are still dong it in their own way and man, if God allows me to even meet them, I would have to personally thank them for not giving up on this dream even when I’m sure there were days they had issues behind the scenes with maybe productions or laws and just… man…
I hope you do enjoy Part 1 of course and I also hope that you share with me some of the household series that you used to watch growing up. I’m excited to hear about the ones we have in common, the ones I’ll be hearing about for the first time and the ones that I totally forgot about.
