GRATITUDE JOURNAL: 8 Worship Songs I’m Grateful For

Come on, you must have seen this one coming. Especially after I posted that blog about music, best believe I am about to spice up your intimacy lifeee with Christ (that can quote).

This is not worship music that is for everyone (obviously that is literally impossible) but I am posting some of the songs that really groomed my intimacy in Christ. Some may not even understand this so I just have to say it again (I hope that doesn’t switch you interest).

Disclaimer: I am a sucker for spontaneous worship and with that, don’t come for me when you see 18+ minute marathons here. I love music that will bring me to my face in adoration of how glorious God is. Just songs that really take me into a place where nothing else matters but giving God my ALL.

1. Yeshua

Something about the name!!!

If you have been here from my first blog or you are like many of my friends and binge read my posts, you would have already known that this blog has already made it to the blog. This is one of those songs that takes me into my soaking sessions, which… let me add that to blog about right now! But there are also days that may not be feeling well and I just need a reminder that Jesus is with me and is present. When I am about 5 minutes in (yes I am already giving you hints that this one can’t be slept on) I am in reflective worship mode. I also realise that it is a perfect lullaby, thank me later!!

2. Emmanuel

I could tell you that I have the perfect explanation for this song but all I can say is, God bless the day that I gave this song a chance. This song makes me want to go to the highest mountain and be the rain… I wanna be bawling my eyes out. Yes I am a very active crier. Just give me the cue, and I’m on it.

This song is also one that God be rocking me to sleep in. (Let me take this opportunity to let you know that I take gifts right around the year so if you need for any reason to offer me listening devices because I don’t want to limit your ability to give, just send me a message. We can make something happen). In days that I feel like I’m not doing enough, that is when I’m on this song.

3. Holy Ghost

“Come fill me up Holy Ghost”. Just the atmosphere from this song is so, *puts on repeat from Sunday after church until work in the morning*. Such a beautifully written song that I personally want to find the loop version to because it just is that good. It also is close to my heart because I personally am a lover of love. I want as many people as possible to experience the love of Christ and of course the Holy Spirit living inside of them.

4. Abba, Abba ( Hold Me While I Heal)

I just want to take this opportunity to say that I am a strong individual. I am in no shape or form vulnerable to….okay I can’t even try to type the lie for that long. There are days that I feel emotionally, EXHAUSTED. Days that I feel physically defeated. There are days, believe me now, that I don’t feel loved, heard by God or even remembered by Him. Sometimes there are days that I feel so damaged from the actions of people and even myself that I feel a need to be healed.

This song came into my life at a time that I really just needed to sit at the feet of Jesus. This is something that I live by just staying there. I really think nothing can beat this experience (who am I to limit God, let me take that back). I just literally feel myself go through a process when I am singing or listening to this song. God really out here having me pull up those tears from the realities of life. From the moments of rejections from people to the no that I get from Him, He seems to have it all together because I see change in me.

5. Voice of God

Uhm, the first time I heard this song, I bawled my eyes out. This song has the Holy Spirit flowing through the melodies. Those who know this song know that this is a very moving song.

After listening to this song for the first time, it really pushed me to see things around me differently and that has been an amazing experience.

6. Never Lost

This song is just amazing. I listen to the Spanish version and the most recent version from the New Year’s Eve Party. As you can see, I love this song. There was a night that I was really questioning how soemthing was going to work out. I was doubting, I’m not gonna lie and I had to remind myself that God has never lost a battle. Never and, He never will. I’m still here thinking of how we underestimate these words. Sometimes we even fight to try to fight these battles on our own, hello. God can never lose.

7. Abba

This song came so randomly in my life. (Low key remembering that nothing happens in life randomly because God divinely orchestrates everything). I was actually watching a sermon with a friend and this song came up. I haven’t stopped playing it since. There is a high possibility that I wonder every time I play it why I just found out about this song. I must say, this song is a healing one. I say this because a lot of times we forget that God is also our Father and when we say this we think, “yeah He created us” but no a Father. He protects and provides. He loves and cares for. Who gone tell us otherwise after we KNOW KNOW? I thought so too.

8. No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus

This song. This song. I said, this song. Okay let me start. I listen to this song especially in moments when I need to be reminded of who Jesus is to me. There also is this peace that comes knowing that He is the only one that can care for me at His level and in a way that satisfies me. Now, this song personally went up in the charts in my life when I was going through (hope y’all didn’t think I don’t go through stuff, we all have stuff) a very difficult time and instead of worrying or panicking, I worshipped. And I worshipped because I knew that if no one cared for me like Jesus, there is no need to worry, and He will have my best interest in mind. So even if it may not turn out the way I wanted it to, I knew that His response is right.

A BONUS!!!

OUT OF HIDING

To close this one off in a fashion that of course started us off, I wanted to add another “healing” song. This really is one of those songs that you need when you remember that you have been feeling as if what you stops God’s love for you. He saw all that we did regardless and still chose the cross, I am beyond grateful and I have to come out of hiding because it is important for me to know that I’m forgiven and loved by God. We forget that God acts in love and that God is love too. Like, there is nothing that can separate us from His love. Even in the chaotic nature of the world, we are safe with Him. I’m telling you, another lullaby song.

I do hope you enjoyed this lineup. I am sure I did. I can’t wait to hear what songs you have in your times of intimacy with God. I will have a list with Praise and Worship music that we all can enjoy but this list really is for those that are planning to or are in the process of being purposeful in their praise (I think I did something with that there) and want to spend time in God’s presence.

Peace.
