TEA TIME WITH RUTHIE: This Is My Break-Out Season

This is a blog post for all of my shy reserved individuals. The ones that are seen as outgoing and fearless by others and they really are terrified of the world and what it has to offer. This message of course is based on what I have learnt and this specific message was a game changer in my life. I sometimes think that hearing and learning from this really helped me to shed the “shy” persona that I used in my past to hide behind or use as an excuse when feared new opportunities.

Lowkey at the end of this blog, you’ll realise that there really is something that all of us can learn.

Focus Text: 1 Corinthians 10:11-15

¹¹ These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age. ¹² If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. ¹³ The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. ¹⁴ So, my dear friends, flee from the worship of idols. ¹⁵ You are reasonable people. Decide for yourselves if what I am saying is true.

WARNING⚠️: It is time to break out of where you have been locked in, locked down or locked up!

• Break loose into what God wants for you to become and do.

Here is a little encouragement. There will come a time you will hear God’s voice for yourself. A part of your growth is learning the voice of the Lord. Even in the midst of the storm, He speaks, can you hear Him even then?

It is even harder to be still when nothing is happening. Study to be silent. Practice to hear God. 

It’s a season of breakout. It is different for some of us and because of that, it is going to be different and it may start at a different time.

It’s a season. You should be aware of what is happening. You cannot be a Christian and not know what is happening. Not just around You, but what God is doing, His next moves, and His plans. Some of us are where God was years ago and not moving to where He is in present day. 

Don’t miss God’s timing. Learn to listen. Not part of his Word, all of it. If you hear God clearly, you can say, like the prophet, “this time tomorrow…“.

For some of us, the breakout season will take longer. Don’t compare yourself to someone else. The Word of God says it’s not wise to compare yourself to others. God will “drape” you differently and talk to you differently; it is a personal and very intimate relationship. Maybe He even will just pat you.

Know that the fire must burn out, trials don’t last forever. 

Don’t worry about the setback, the comeback is coming. You may feel trapped mentally, or even physically. It’s time to breakout from whatever it is that is holding you back. When God is ready to break you out, out of what is holding you bondage, it is so you can come in to what He has in store for you. Somebody say “step up!!!”

 It’s a fulfillment . There is nothing like doing what God has called for you. 

Ever felt you want to do more but something is holding you down? Decide that you won’t give up. Yah go break out… (English for, “you are going to break out”).

1. Shell of Shyness

Break out of your shell of shyness. Bout a “suh you stay” (translation “saying that this is how you are”). Don’t stop because of someone you don’t like or you don’t want them to feel uncomfortable. It’s time to break out. Do not put yourself in a position for the sake of not waiting to make them uncomfortable. It is similar to when we speak about this, don’t put yourself on fire, for the sake of keeping anyone warm.

A. Fear  

You shall know the truth and the will set you free. You will be courageous and and when you have the knowledge you will face it.

B. Doubt

 Sometimes fear is when you doubt. Overcome the doubt. God gave us all the measure of faith. 

C. Unbelief 

“Lord I believe but help my unbelief that may be holding me back”. Mindset, mindset. The devil can’t hold you back, but He can make you think you can’t or slow you down from believing.

Break out of your shell of shyness. Know the Word, get it in you. When it get in you, yuh bruck out. 

2. Cocoon of complacency.

Yuh just tan so. Lazy and nah do nothing. Cya bother. Or you dont really know. Why you not doing what God has called you to do? Waiting on him, him call yuh longtime. You too comfortable. Enjoy your blessings and no commitment or responsibility. 

A. Negative Thinking

Cut it out. 

B.  Toxic Tabits

Bout a nuh nth (Translation, “acting as if your toxic traits are nothing or don’t exist”). Don’t let the enemy fool you. Drop it.

C. Religious rituals and the traditions of men

They are vain religions, waste of time. True religion is to minister to the poor. If you true..!!  People will love God but complain about that church because they have no problem with God. Sometimes we get in the way, with vain religion (…and for a quick moment I want some of us to admit that we are the reason people stray from God. I know some are not ready, but carry on). When you are in a relationship with God, you want to share it with people and spread his LOVE. It is all about how you treat each other. 

3. Box of Limitation 

Quote from my dad, “some of us are just in a box and nah move out of it”. Our comfort zone. Little do you know that you not going any further because you are constantly AT THE SAME PLACE. Anywhere you are, praise him because… 

A. Stop limiting God

Jeremiah 29:11.

He knows the plans he has for you. The only reason you not doing it, is because you doubt that He will do it for you. (This is also me at the moment so let me just sit here for a quick 30 seconds…).

He rejoices because of what has been started in faith. Allow for to be God in your life. Give Him permission. Give Him an “all access” card. Some of us freely give this to strangers and friends, but when it comes to God… amma stay out yall business.

B. Stop limiting God and yourself

I will say this every chance I get. If you doubt you, you doubt God. If you limit you, you limit God. If you think low or less of yourself, you discredit God. If you negatively describe yourself, you disrespect God’s work. I don’t even think this needs explaining…

Nothing is impossible with God and to them that believe. 

When you meditate on the Word, one on one, ask him what it means for you right now. He will tell you and show you. Will you obey when you hear and agree and decide to step out of your box of Limitation?

For some of us, it has been a routine, a lifestyle, or even a curse at this point, because it has been happening for generations!!!

Faith and love is action. If you have Faith, it should be seen in your works. Let when people think of you, they think of how faith driven you are. And I mean, if you cannot be seen displaying the acts of love, are you even saved? Tongues is cute, but are you displaying the Fruit of the Spirit? Figures.

C. Stop limiting those God placed in your life to help You!

We have this ego and pride. Because a me, and me know who me is, yuh nuh wah hear nth from nobody. Sometimes is people you don’t like, God sends to come bless you. But all you do is murmur and complain. Remember Jonah.

He will prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies.  Bless them that curse you. Do good to them that hate you. You are not responsible for what they do, but your own response. Don’t start talking “hot word” like my dad says. Sometimes God sends you people in your life and He is working character in you. And you can move up. Boss (God for the really saved folks) will hold you up, but when God wants to promote you, not even your boss (earthly now, like work…) can hold you back!!!.

Sometimes we are not the ones that choose those people in our lives. Christian friends, family that when you want to go party, they will say, “that is not you“. There is always one that will say, even in gangs, “that it is not right“. And we shouldn’t treat them in a mean way. Don’t treat them bad in order to save yourself from destruction.

God will make you uncomfortable. Wake you up in the mornings and ask him what it is he wants you to do. If you are not ready, don’t follow the crowd, THIS IS NOT a bandwagon. Reason with God for yourself. Tell Him you want to break out. If you are not ready you see, I am sorry if you say that and not prepared… If God reaches the point of kicking you off the chair (hehe), you are not going to like it.

Some of our horse’s higher than Paul. (I don’t care if no one laughs, this was hilarious). It’s not the loudness or cuteness, it’s the heart cry. Like the mother of Samuel. People thought she was mad. Sometimes we pray like the whole block has to hear, like God deaf (respectfully, He is not). Sometimes you are that overwhelmed. With Hannah prayers, not a soul heard her.

Gwan bake lil bit.

Go through heat to be ready for the breakout. Before you get the answer, God heard you. If you can’t hear, you are fighting the wrong battle. He will send Michael etc. If you are on the wrong page from God, you are going all the way around. Learn to hear Him. When you speak for a long time, he will be like… alright… Allow Him to speak too.

Listen. To. His. Voice. 

• Your praise is an indication of your faith. And we know that the weapons of your warfare are not carnal.  – 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.

To conclude: Go ahead and read Isaiah 54.
