Notes: God’s Best Gift To Us

Today is a very special Sunday because you are alive and well! Most of you may have had corporate worship either online on in your church’s sanctuary. Others may have had church yesterday and please, all are welcome to share with me their time spent with God with others. Let’s all give thanks for living to see another week and having survived everything from the past week.

Today, I wanted to share with you guys some notes from a session I attended in early August. It was a message from a man that I really respect as a man after God’s own heart and one of those “examples” of a father. So, I do hope you enjoy the little important points that he stressed and that you now value you’re gift a bit differently after this because this day changed my perspective and my life. Something changed in me. Let’s go.

What is the best gift that God gave us ?

It starts with the letter “F”

Alright, so forgiveness is great and all and so is favor, but the answer is FORGIVENESS.

Everyone you see is a gift. You are a gift.

All from God.

  • How you treat the gift from God shows how much you appreciate the giver of the Gift.
  • The gift is an indication that the giver is good.

We sadly appreciate gifts when they are gone.

When you live in the world long enough and you lose your sense of God, and sin seems normal.

God is a good God and He gives us good and perfect gifts.

  • The best gift is friendship. God gave us that gift which is friendship.

We don’t understand the gift and we take it for granted and don’t treat it well.

  • When we think of friends we should think: Encourage, bless and inspire.

It’s the gift that helps you to go further.

  • The only reason you can still be in Christ, is because of friendship.

I can look at your circle and determine your destiny.

  • Have a small circle.
  • Your destination should determine your association.

If you don’t know your destination you will chose any association.

The wrong association may prevent you from getting to your destination.

FRIENDSHIP

What adults think is that adults have influence over young people… but they have a very small amount.

Young people influence young people.

How to be a Godly Friend

Wherever you go, you can shine.

People with leprosy had to be socially distanced from those who are clean. When Jesus came and touched the leper, the leper didn’t give him what they had, they got what He had.

Wherever you go, when you walk, they don’t contaminate you, but you contaminate them

Your destination should determine your association.

Three things that destroy men: Sex, Money, and Power.

Kingdom men set the bar high.

Protect your heart.

Things about friendship.

Luke 5 is a story of friendship.

4 friends had another friend who could not walk. They took their friend to Jesus.

  • Good friends introduce their friends to Jesus.
  • They seek opportunities to tell their friends about Jesus.

Vs 17. Good friends are able to recognize the presence of God because they realise that everything can be done in his presence.

You are a gift to your friends who don’t know God.

You need to cultivate God wherever you go.

Many of our friends are going through a lot and are in need of a touch from God and because we don’t think we are a gift, we don’t make ourselves available to impact and touch our friends.

When they brought or attempted to bring their friend to Jesus, they didn’t give up because Good friends persevere.

  • Be around friends who don’t allow you to give up.

Your association determine your destination.

Some will carry us back and not forward.

1. When Jesus healed the man, he took up what he was lying on… when Good friends are with us, what used to enslave us, we will master it

  • When you have those friends, you no longer are a victim, but a master of it.

There is physical and spiritual paralysis.

Only a friend will know what you are struggling with.

That’s why God gave us good friends. To be healed, delivered and served free.

2. He departed to his own house glorifying God… we have seen strange things today. (Bible verse cont’d)

When you help your friend, you’re helping to spread that friendship and healing after taking them into the presence of God.

God’s divine plan is not to just use you to impact your friend, but their family.

Believe that you are a part of this REVIVAL.

The enemy is trying to split us apart.

The person you can’t stand is a gift too.

Love and honor each other. Do not reward evil for evil but overcome evil with God.

Encourage each other.

Where God sees unity He commands a blessing.

It will not be limited to us but also our household.

A friend loves at all times and they know us because God requires us to be set free and restored.

Homework

  • If you have offended anybody and you are aware of it, call them and contact them and apologize.
  • If someone who you have perceived has offended you, forgive them.

You need friends that will take you to where you need to be in Christ.

I know, the hammer hit the nail. If you want to watch the full video, check out this link: Part 1 & Part 2.

Earlier today I had to remind some of my friends that God is proud of them. Do you have friends that will let you know that you are loved by God and that your actions please Him regardless of the mistakes that we have made? You better go find some if you don’t!! And as friends we of course need to walk in Jesus’ footsteps.
