Let’s see the focus passage for today…
24 And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria.
25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass’s head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove’s dung for five pieces of silver.
26 And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king.
27 And he said, If the Lord do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?
2 Kings 6:24-27 KJV
During this time, sons were seen as a heritage.
The king was frustrated and asked for Elisha’s head.
The four lepers were in a hard place. If they stayed they would die or they would murdered and die.
So they still changed their positions.
With every option they had, they were going to die.
Because of fear, many persons stayed in their positions.
In life, every now and then situations come and it seems like there is no way out, but we have a choice to change our position.
When the lepers were out they heard sounds of chariots and armies etc.
Don’t worry because the Lord will make a way somehow. That’s what we are always told right? We should live that.
Rejoice!!!
Even though there was death in sight, the prophet said tomorrow… so just change your position.
Just listen to what the Holy Spirit has to say. Sometimes you just need to be quiet. I mean literally, shut up sometimes.
Respectfully.
And just listen to God.
Why would you want to change your position? THINK ABOUT IT.
Now how do you change your position?
Answer: By Faith
Let’s use the analogy my dad once used… Christianity is like a plane. The devil everyday is beside you trying to convince you to come off and tell you that the plane will crash. Or in the race… beside you to tell you your lace wants to be tied.
He can’t stop you but will try to convince you to give up or slow you down.
Sometimes you have to encourage your soul… and when I say this I mean it. You have to make decisions for yourself, your breakthrough and for your life to change. Not your pastor or parents.
Mark 10:46-52 - The Healing of Blind Bartimaeus
He was aware of the position he was in. Even with him being in the crowd… he saw Jesus differently. He knew what the purpose of Jesus was. He had no option but to call out to Jesus.
Vs. 48.
They charged him to hold his peace and he cried even louder. Jesus was his only option.
Sometimes life takes us to this point where we realise that Jesus is our only option. Even when those around us are acting up and seem to be attacking or irritating us.
Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. They told him be of good courage (devil showing up).
The same person will beat you up at work to do wrong… but when the time right they know when to say that they know you are a Christian and ask you to pray for them and their family. Chilee… life is…
You have to take off the coat that you had on before you were changing your position.
When you ready you must buss and ready fresh. These are my few words in Jesus name.
Credit to one of my dad’s sermons one long time ago for inspiration and for royalties.
For legal reasons, I am serious.
