I remember doing this as one of my first devotionals on the YouVersion App. I found it interesting that a lot of times we think we need work on some things and a few years ago we were good with it or we are good with things now that we once needed help with. I had a conversation with a friend (not me doing this again lol) and we were talking about how much we all really need to reflect the Proverbial Woman. Not just girl; woman.
I started to read through a few of my notes and realised that I am going to (as in I am putting it on the list as we… read? Lool) on the chapter from Proverbs about the Proverbial Woman (Proverbs 31). In the meantime, let us go through this devotional notes and see what we can learn from it and what we all need to take away from it.
+++Please note that these are just examples So you need to think about responding on a personal level. I just wanted to ensure that there was understanding of how to answer. I’ll remind yall SOMETIMES to get your pen and paper.+++
A Proverbial girl takes care of her body, mind and soul because she is the temple of the Lord. She must be willing to take things that are of no value off her life.
Quality Ingredients + Proper Care = Great Worth and Value
5 Things That Make Me Valuable
– The care I have for people
– Keeping my purity until marriage
– Living my life working on the Fruits of the Spirit
– Spending an amount of time daily with the Lord
– Having valuable conversations with people around me
5 Things That Can Destroy My Worth
– Being disobedient
– Having no respect
– Being available to everyone to access and go as they please
– Taken for a fool for my time and what I can offer to people
– Not having spiritual substance
She never measures her value by outward people. That causes low self-esteem.
Fruit of the Spirit
DISCLAIMER: I just want some of the church to unlearn something for a minute. Fruit of the Spirit not… fruits. Not a tree of fruits, not a basket of fruits, not a fruit cobbler. Just one FRUIT.
Now what does that mean for us? They all come TOGETHER. One product from the produce (spirit). Yall not ready for this conversation so amma just head back to the blog.

That I Have
You better take out your pen and paper right nowwww, respectfully. I’ll make an example so you can see!!! I hope yall see the word “example”. Don’t want anyone dragging me in the comments for not having “self-control”. You know how people get. Lol
- Love
- Kindness
- Goodness
- Faithfulness
- Gentleness
Need to work on
- Joy
- Peace
- Patience
- Self-control
Q. What relationship in your life challenges you the most? (think about it. I’ll give an example so you guys have an idea. Really “talk to yourself or God” though. You know?).
Long distance ones, or one that I would have had for a lengthy time in the past and then it goes away… Not being able to move on from that or even accept that there was evolving taking place.
Q. How might that challenge help you to grow in love?
Accepting that you can love someone from afar. Also that I don’t have to be face to face consistently with someone I consider to be important in my life.
Home Work
Yes I said it. You heard me. The devotional had it and so I’m giving it to yah.
- Identify a friend who is a little rough around the edges.
- Ask her how you can pray for her, and commit to doing it.
I want us to really heal from things this year so that’s why I’m really going to be pushing for us to THINK and ACT. I’m currently looking and studying forgiveness and I think prosperous fruit will bear from that season in my life. I cannot wait to see what God does with that but yes. Remember to pray. Remember that you are a Proverbial Woman (Disclaimer part 2747383: Girl is what was used in the devotional and the rest of the content but unwanted to personalize my experience and say woman because… yah know).

Not Ruthie giving me home work!๐ But I will take on the challenge.
It’s amazing of your unique style of writing brings across your humility and your calmness so much that I wish these blogs were longer. This especially made me reflect on my values and my attributes and I will definitely do more research on the proverbial woman. Thank You for blessing us with your words!

You are so welcome. I got a message today saying I should make them longer. When I just started I was told shorter. Lool. I’ll do as the Father instructs.
