TEA TIME WITH RUTHIE: Be Bold

I had a meeting with an Auntie earlier last year and I’m basically about to go through with you what I learnt. Prepare for me to drop these gems. The main message is that we need to be bold as Christians. As in, BOLD. Full caps and bold edits!! I hope after this blog post you’ll realise how much some of us need to be more Godfident.

One thing that is important for all of us is to know our identity in Christ. The enemy has been after this from the beginning of time and as believers we must affirm yourself based on the Word of God, not others.

We must refuse to have any thought of yourself or others that God has not said.

We don’t define based on what someone or something does, but whom they belong to. Similarly, God has adopted you. An adopted parent has more right to a child than the biological parent.
He has to remain committed to us. That is also a promise He made to us many times in scripture.

  • Believe that you are joint heirs with Jesus. Jesus is perfect and imagine us being with him.

The minute that we believe what God says about us, is when the enemy attacks. Because he is not able to feed us with lies that flood our minds. If we know who God says we are and believe it, nothing the enemy says will belittle or affect us.

Fear manifests in many ways.

Let us compare for a moment… Faith and Fear ask you to believe in something that is unknown. The enemy will take you somewhere fast and of no good. God will take you slowly to somewhere good. See?

Like the verse says above. Nothing separates us from the love of God and we have to believe that God has given us Jesus. If we do not believe for ourselves, won’t the enemy try to give us a new identity to forge the one’s that God has for us written in His Word? EXACTLY chilee.

If He gave us Him, what would He not give us? THINK ABOUT IT. One thing I know for sure is that God gives every good and perfect gift. Yall know that verse right? I’ve been rinsing it a lot lately. But yes. If God sent His “only begotten son” so that He could have a relationship (key word here) with you, what would He NOT do?? That’s what I thought.

Life is not black and white, there are some gray areas. When we place God in those areas, meaning believe Him and put it all in His hands, life will be of colour. I love colour and that’s on not having one specific favourite colour because that just doesn’t add up to me.

Trust that even with nothing, that He has your best interest at heart.

What we think about God determines everything else. Someone once told me, how we treat others is how we think of God and how we think of God is how we treat others. Also, how we treat God is how we think of others. Think about it. If we love God, we love others. Why? Because He tells us to love. That is His instruction. So all of you that “hate people” cannot say you are working according to God’s plan and purpose for the Kingdom.

If you know that He is good. You will go to Him confidently. If you know that God has healed, when you feel sick you will go to Him. When you know that He mends, when you feel faint at heart you will approach His throne.

The more you develop your intimacy with God, is the more you know Him and trust Him. It gives you the highest return. I was in a conversation with a group of young believers and if you think about it, the Christians that are loud or have a lot to say, tend to not know God intimately and only recite what they know from religious rituals or passed down cultural information. Yes, I said it. There is a difference with passion from experience and echos of a hear say. (Goes back to the focus of the blog).

When He thinks of you, He thinks of those that will be blessed because of you. The deposit made in you, will bless others and your generation to come. It is your decision to make God’s investment look good or bad. I personally would not miss out on someone investing so much in me for me to let them down. I’ll fall 1837383 times, but best believe I am going back to the source that invested in me and calls me loved.

What We Should Do

  • Know and understand the “mind of God”. The Word is filled with promises and that draws us to Him.
  • Be deliberate about how you spend time with God and where boldness will just appear.

We are designed to hear God. Did you just hear me though?? I said we are designed to hear God. DID I STUTTER? We are designed to hear God. And if you cannot hear it either is because you are not listening, too occupied, having excises or you are listening to the voice of others (literally can be anything, your cat maybe?).

Know this: Nothing separates us from the love of God and hearing Him.

Just “stand”. You don’t need to do anything to draw Him.

Desire to please Him. No one can put that desire in you. Now stop asking people to pray for you and go pray for yourself for that desire to be reignited.

Wage war with the prophetic word that has been given to YOU. Fear gives birth to the very thing you are afraid of. So you make a decision if you want to go in labor from fear or faith. Be bold. I rest my case.

Give Him permission.
